The older portion of the building certainly shows this, with a central courtyard with embellished ceiling and upper-story arcades. The addition is rather ugly from the outside, but has very good light distribution and maximizes display space. The art is well-curated, with a rotation of items on display that encompass the wide variety of visual arts throughout the ages. There is stuff by artists that you would not expect to find in a small-town museum. A very manageable, enjoyable museumThe museum also owns the Weltzheimer/Johnson House a Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian building that is open for tours seasonally.
