The Allen Memorial Art Museum was founded back in 1917, and today is recognized as one of the five best college and university art museums in the entire USA!

Comprising more than 15,000 works of art from virtually every culture and spanning the history of art, this family friendly museum's collection is a wonderful cultural resource for all who visit, with galleries filled with extraordinary old master and 19th century sculptures, paintings and decorative arts. 

The collection of European and American paintings and sculpture from the 15th century to today is particularly strong, as well as the incredibly important collection of Asian paintings, scrolls, sculptures and more.

Kids, have you heard of the artist Cezanne, or Matisse? Have you ever wanted to see a real life Picasso up close in person, or really study an authentic Rembrandt?

All of these and SO much more at the Allen Memorial Art Museum's collections!

This popular museum also showcase changing exhibitions, so you can plan your next visit around something new to see. These exhibitions focus on a particular artist, or culture, or technique, offering a deeper understanding of a particular facet within the art world.

Any top tips?

You may use a pencil when drawing or writing but pens are not allowed in the galleries. Be prepared with pencils for your children
