Directions

Chaco Canyon is located in northwestern New Mexico. The preferred and recommended access route to the park is from the north, via US 550 (formerly NM 44) and County Road (CR) 7900, and CR 7950. From the north, turn off US 550 at CR 7900--3 miles southeast of Nageezi and approximately 50 miles west of Cuba (at mile 112.5). This route is clearly signed from US 550 to the park boundary (21 miles). The route includes 8 miles of paved road (CR 7900) and 13 miles of rough dirt road (CR7950).

Where are we going today?

Chaco Canyon was a major center of Puebloan culture between AD 850 and 1250. The Chacoan sites are part of the homeland of Pueblo Indian peoples of New Mexico, the Hopi Indians of Arizona, and the Navajo Indians of the Southwest.

Everything on their menu is delicious, vegan and nutrient dense. My favorites are the fully-raw tuna sandwich, the Mighty Mofo sandwich, the Hippy Bowl, their hot elderberry tonic and their banana bread. Consistently incredible food. They also sell this amazing hot sauce (at their West Seattle location) made from cacao you can't find anywhere else. I can eat that stuff plain. Service is always super friendly.

Craving healthy food and drink? If so, this place makes tasty juice blends and super healthy meals. We came out here to "brunch." Their super tasty weekend brunch menu has all one would want for brunch and more. I highly recommend their Tempeh Bacon & Scramble. How do they make that tempeh taste so good? I ordered more tempeh bacon as an extra side. This place reminds me a little bit like Cafe Gratitude minus all the "I'm thankful" sayings/etc. Serving quinoa bowls, soups and salads it's a vegetarian and vegan's dream cafe.

I am a regular at this cafe, I love their vegan cookies and other bake-goods as well as some of their other weird desserts... I love their coffee and shakes!
But their food is so-so, I am not a vegan, so I guess I need a meat/dairy/non-organic/msg/whatever-is-missing there, I like their bowl of lentils with carrots, I like it so much that I cook it at home (but I add pork or chicken).
