About this activity

ABQ Botanic Garden is a great way to just take your family day out down a notch, and enjoy just a relaxing, and colorful experience. Here, you can just stroll in your own time across 1 1/2 miles of paths, through formal and whimsical gardens, that will delight your senses!

There are a number of exhibits throughout the ABQ Botanic Garden that are included in your admission, showcasing some of the most beautiful plants and gardens from all over the world.

The Old World Walled Gardens bring to life the cultures and design of the North African deserts, Spain and New Mexico, or it's exploring the Mediterranean at the conservatory, with plants native to coastal areas such as Mediterranean Sea, California coast, South African coast and even southwestern Australia.

Kids can learn all about the Saguaro cactus, and trees from the Sonoran Desert in the Desert Conservatory, or it's across to Asia with the Sasebo Japanese Garden, with 4 acres of stunning waterfalls, koi pond, and Japanese plants.

The colors of the butterflies are always popular with children, with over 40 species in the Butterflies and Bees exhibit, or they can check out the two 400ft loops of brass rails in the Railroad Garden, complete with model trains!

Did we mention there's a Children's Fantasy Garden too, where a 14ft dragon guards the castle gates, behind which children can play with kid-sized eggs, walk-through pumpkins 42ft in diameter, and see HUGE vegetables in the veggie patch!

A nature filled day out in Albuquerque and nature is calling so we better get moving kids!
