The Martin and Osa Johnson Safari Museum is located in Osas hometown of Chanute, Kansas and is an insight into the turn of the century safari explorers. Formed in 1961 to preserve the Johnsons' achievements and to encourage further research into their fields of study, the Safari Museum (as it was originally named) has grown and flourished, offering a new generation the excitement and inspiration of the sort of true exploration which is now hard to find.
The inhouse Snark Theatre shows documentaries of the adventurous couple in the wild, plus elsewhere you can pore through the Johnsons' films, photographs, manuscripts, articles, books, and personal belongings.
