Williamson Park is home to the iconic Ashton Memorial and has 54 acres of parks and woodlands to explore, with stunning views across Morecambe Bay and the Lake District fells.
The park has a mini zoo and has residents such as meerkats, marmosets and minibeasts to look at! They also have a Butterfly House which is home to butterflies, tortoises, Koi carp and many more.
It's an oasis of trees, vines, waterfalls and tropical plants and you'll get to walk with the most stunning butterfly species in the world.
Keep your eyes peeled for caterpillars munching on the leave all around and you'l learn about the diet and lifecycle of a butterfly from the information boards or from one of the knowledgeable keepers. Each weekend you can also meet the zoo keepers and get even closer to some of te resident animals too.
The Ashton Memorial is a Grade 1 listed building and stands around 150 feet! The first floor outdoor gallery provides superb views of the countryside, so make sure to give it a visit!

To reach Williamson Park by car: leave the M6 at junction 33 and follow the signs for Lancaster City Centre. Approaching the city centre, turn right at the first roundabout and follow tourist information signs for Williamson Park.

Williamson Park offers hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice-creams and light meals in the Pavilion Cafe.
There is a wide range of Williamson Park souvenirs such as branded binoculars, bendy pencils and compasses
The Pavilion Cafe, gift shop and Butterfly House are all accessible with smooth solid floor surfaces. Entrance to the minibeast cave is via a ramp. The Butterfly House and gardens have narrow paths but they are accessible to wheelchairs. Access to the ground floor of the Ashton Memorial is via stairs or a lift. Access to higher floors is via stairs only.
