About this activity

Williamson Park is home to the iconic Ashton Memorial and has 54 acres of parks and woodlands to explore, with stunning views across Morecambe Bay and the Lake District fells.

It's an oasis of trees, vines, waterfalls and tropical plants and you'll get to walk with the most stunning butterfly species in the world.

Keep your eyes peeled for caterpillars munching on the leave all around and you'l learn about the diet and lifecycle of a butterfly from the information boards or from one of the knowledgeable keepers. Each weekend you can also meet the zoo keepers and get even closer to some of te resident animals too.

The Ashton Memorial is a Grade 1 listed building and stands around 150 feet! The first floor outdoor gallery provides superb views of the countryside, so make sure to give it a visit!

The park has lots of events all year round, so make sure to check the website before you visit so you know what's on!
