About this activity

The Oxfordshire Museum is located in the heart of Woodstock that hosts changing exhibitions and lots of permanent ones too! There's lots to do for the whole family, from crafting to events!

At the museum there are ten galleries in total, with a unique aspect and story of Oxfordshire and its people. There are items representing over 500,000 years of human and natural history in the Introducing Oxfordshire display, with a huge carnival costum and amazing 3D displays.

In the Victorian Oxfordshire gallery, there's a full sized model of Queen Victoria, see the victorian home and family life, sanitary development and more than 100 artefacts from the county collection.

In the woodlands gallery you'll see sculptures and natural history and in the changing countryside gallery you'll see the changes that have occurred in farming and transport over the years.

There's also a dinosaurs gallery with fossils, electronic moving eye and a range of activities including feed the dinosaurs. Don't miss the Anglo-Saxons gallery, Oxfordshire Ark, Treasures and Roman Oxfordshire, complete with a skeleton found at Abingdon!
