About this activity

Stowe Landscape Gardens in Buckinghamshire is a perfect place for a family day out! They offer great children's activity packs, full of ideas to discover wildlife and nature in the gardens and help keep their interest going!

Since the National Trust acquired the gardens in the late 1980s, an ambitious programme of restoration has ensured that over 40 temples and monuments remain, gracing an inspiring backdrop of lakes and valleys with an endless variety of walks and trails, a delight to explore at any time of year! Why not head down there, enjoy the stunning views, and take a pinic with you?

As well as this, there's plenty of fun and pretty wildlife to spot, so check out what you can spot! There's also an amazing tea room if you fancy a snack and to sit and take in the view! So what are you waiting for? Head there now and make the most of it. You'll find some of the best-loved and most iconic temples and monuments at the eastern side of the garden. Don’t miss the Gothic Temple, the Temple of Friendship and the Palladian Bridge.

Stowe Church is tucked away in the heart of the gardens, and you can pop in any time on your walk through the Elysian Fields. Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown was married here and four of his children christened here too. Sit on the bench outdoors and enjoy this mini haven in the vast landscape.
