About this activity

How much history of Milton Keynes do you know? Well, if you don't know much, OR you find the history so fascinating you want to learn more, the Milton Keynes Museum is for you!

This interesting museum is a local history museum and features exhibits filled with artefacts, all from Milton Keynes and its surrounding area.

The museum itself can be found in the peaceful surroundings of Stacey Hill Farm, and your visit will start in the old farmhouse where you will also find the Victorian parlour, scullery and kitchen all of which have been lovingly recreated.

Work your way through the galleries on your self-guided tour, where kids can learn about stories from as far back as pre-history (you can't get much earlier than that!) through to the 1800s, which allows the museum to bring back some of the rich archaeology, currently in storage or displayed in other museums.

Making you way to the second gallery and kids can learn all about the story of the town’s creation and what it took to make it what it is today, plus hear stories of some of the town's biggest success stories including Red Bull Racing and The Open University!

Milton Keynes Museum also host regular events, as well as changing displays and family days which can make your museum experience so much more amazing!
