About this activity

Ridley Park in Northumberland is a popular and picturesque spot for the whole family to visit throughout the year. It provides space for many fun and recreational activities for people of all ages to enjoy and includes a large and vibrant water play area.
The Water Play Area is open all Summer and attracts people from a wide area! It's surrounded by 2 Playgrounds (suitable for Toddlers/Young Children and Older Children respectively) as well as loads of space for picnics!
Ridley Park also offers 2 enclosed Tennis Courts, a Putting Green and a Bowling Green.
Ridley Park forms a tiny part of Sustrans National Cycle Route 1. The Park is also popular with walkers (with and without dogs!) and runners of all ages! After enjoying the 13 miles of trails and stunning views, he park has a large number of mature trees around much of the perimeter with most of the stock being deciduous. Some traditional coastal species also exist in the form of Elm, Sycamore and Swedish Whitebeam. So enjoy seeing what you spot, and then visit the park café which offers food and drink throughout the year.

The area isn't just a haven to wildlife; it is also home to several poignant reminders of Blyth's history. Memorials stand at the Northern end of the Park commemorating those that died during both World Wars. The Celtic cross stands next to these in recognition of 6 local servicemen that lost their lives in the Second Boar War.
Throughout the summer, an ice cream van is on site most days.
