The fascinating Museum of London Docklands is exactly that - a museum telling the rich history of London - and it's fascinating!
The Museum of London Docklands have permanent gallery exhibitions, as well as events and rotating exhibits so there is always so much to see!
Kids can learn all about the Trade Expansion and those merchants, sailors and pirates who transformed London between 1600 to 1800, before discovering how the sugar trade impacted enslaved Africa.
As new docks moved into the city, the city was transformed - and you can read all about the River Thames aided this, before exploring the dary alleyways of London's Sailortown in the 19th century!
Did you know that London was once the hub of the world's largest empire? Or that the worst maritime disaster in British waters actually happened on the Thames?

The Museum Cafe is where you can pick up delicious snacks, drinks and light meals.
Recommended last entry is 4pm as the museum takes at least an hour to look around. They also begin to close the galleries 20 minutes before closing time.
There is of course a gift shop! You can pick up postcards, posters and prints relating to Docklands, as well as toys, stationery and gifts!
Students can enjoy a free museum visit, and the museum makes an amazing place for students to learn history outside of the history books
