About this activity

Borough Market is one of - if not THE - most iconic market in London. With its rich history spanning 1000 years, the market is part of London's lifeline and is located right next to the very imposing yet beautiful Southwark Cathedral.

Borough Market today is run by a charitable trust for the benefit of the community, and is a place where the family can stroll, take in the sights, the cultures, the smells, and the tastes. The location is also amazing too, right near the Thames and London Bridge!

What was once a wholesale market serving the greengrocers of south London is now a place where sustainable food can be found (catering for all dietary requirements), drawing visitors from far and wide.

What's so fun about visiting Borough Market is that there are just so many different vendors to be found, in a truly historic setting. Kids will love going up to all the stalls and seeing what is on offer (here's a hint, if you love cheese, keep an eye out for the unbelievable grilled cheese sandwiches!)

A really fun, iconicly London destination for the family!

There are so many options for healthy eating and various dietary requirements, including vegan, halal and vegetarian.

The Market’s public spaces are laid out on a single ground-floor level, so have no need for lifts or stairs. However, a few of the restaurant buildings are multi-storey.

Due to its historic nature, their estate contains several different surfaces (including some cobbles), with some areas harder to access than others.
