About this activity

Food Museum in Suffolk is spread across 84 acres of Suffolk countryside, with daily talks and tours and 17 buildings for you to explore, plus lots of hands on activities for the whole family to enjoy.

There are 40,000 objects in the collection, from wartime ration recipes to full size steam powered mill engines. There's always something going on too, with lots of events, workshops and family activities, and even live performances!

Pick up a daily menu from the museum shop, which lists all of the activities. Every day you can meet the horses, have a go at farming and foraging activities, and even watch the animal feeding sessions too. Inside the hall houses the community exhibition galeries, and outside there is the stunning walled garden which you can take a relaxing stroll around.

You'll find housing crafts and tools, a blacksmith's forge, a farm barn which grows food and a demonstration kitchen too. You'll get to see a working watermill too! There's lots of walking and river trails too where you can explore the beautiful countryside.

The river sculpture trail is a great place to take a walk. It's a 1km pathway which meanders along the river and there's sculptures such as a spiders web, woodland creatures and more to discover along the way.

Make sure to check out the website before you arrive so you know what's happening!
