Crook Hall and Gardens has been cared for by the National Trust since 2022. When in Durham, this is is a must-visit destination for families looking for a fun and unique experience. This stunning 13th century medieval manor house and its beautiful gardens offer a glimpse into the past, while also providing a range of activities and amenities that are sure to delight visitors of all ages.

One of the things that makes Crook Hall and Gardens so special is its rich history. Visitors can explore the beautifully preserved medieval manor house, which features original oak beams, a Minstrels' Gallery, and an impressive Great Hall. The house is also home to a collection of period furniture and artifacts, making it a fascinating destination for history buffs.

From north or south, take the A690 into Durham and cross the river. Take the first exit at the next roundabout, Crook Hall Gardens is signposted via Framwelgate Waterside and Frankland Lane. It seems like you're turning left off Milburngate into a multi storey car park, that's correct. NB you'll pass a pay and display car park before a National Trust sign and the entrance to Crook Hall Gardens car park.

Parking: Parking on site. Pay and display, free for National Trust members.
