Brampton Park is the borough's flagship park and has Green Flag status! It's filled with beautiful trees, gardens and is a great place to wander, relax and have an adventure!
There's a number of park attractions too. There's an aviary filled with birds and parrots too so see if you can get them to talk or maybe even imitate a telphone! The children's play area is filled with exciting equipment from slides, swings and climbing frames there's so much to climb and jump on that will burn the kids energy off!
There's a sandpit with a water pump too for the real seaside experience, so bring a bucket and spade or purchase one from the museum shop so you can imagine being at the beach.
If you wanted somewhere to relax, then the rose garden and sensory garden is the perfect spot. Watch the bees go from flower to flower and smell the beauty of lavendar and thyme.
From May to September there's a miniature railways and tickets are free too! You'll get to ride all around the park and is a great thing to do if you're short on time and want to explore the park in all of its glory.
As well, theres lots of open space for ball games. Why not bring a frisbee or football and finish your day with a picnic underneath the trees! On your visit round you'll notice lots of sculptures and memorials once of which is The Lady in the Park which is on a bench under the trees. She's a memorial to all women who lost husbands, sons and friends in the First World War.
