Where are we going today?
If you ever hear your parents say to you " come on - get your skates on!" you can now reply, "Yay! That must mean we're going to Skate City Academy!"
Skate City Academy Blvd is a family friendly rollerskating rink where you can use up all that extra energy that you have, as well as have a great time, and skate away with your family and friends - maybe even show off a few moves!
Skate City have a number of public skating sessions, as well as age specific sessions from the little ones to the parents, so there really is something for the whole family!
If you have never skated before, don't you worry because there will always be staff there to help (and your family are always a good arm to lean on!), and just remember there will always be other kids at your level learning too. If you are a pro, then you are just as welcome, and skate away trying out some new tricks! Skating is for all levels!
Get those hearts pumping to their super cool tunes during their 2 hour sessions.
If you want to enjoy age sessions or fun events, then keep an eye out for what they have on.
Every Thursday morning they have a Pixie Class which lets those little skaters learn the basics over the course of 90 minutes. You're never too young to learn how to skate! After 10 classes, you will get your own little Pixie T-Shirt! Fun!
Friday nights at Skate City have 2 sessions for teen skaters, and for those really advanced skaters you could be part of their Panthers Speed Skating Team. Classes are Saturday morning and practice is Thursday evenings. If you book 5 classes and 5 practices, you get a FREE pair of speed skates! Amazing!
They also provide other skating classes, such as the intermediate classes Saturday mornings. Learn to dance on skates! Great for those who know the basics and really want to excel!
And of course, events such as Halloween Night are super fun and a great excuse to dress up for your skating occasion! First Thursday of every month you can skate to the tunes of the 60s, 70s and 80s, and Sunday late afternoons and family nights with FREE PIZZA! YUM!
So come on, get your skates on!
How much does it cost?
- Adults$5 for 2 hours. Additional hours $1.50. Skate rental $2 - $3.50
- Children$5 for 2 hours. Additional hours $1.50. Skate rental $2 - $3.50
When can we go?
Public sessions: Monday 6pm - 8:30pm. Fri 4pm - 10pm / Sat 10am - 10pm / Sun 12pm - 8pm.
Tuesday and Wednesday closed for private parties.
Speed skating, little ones skating and intermediate classes available! Also great to bring kids on a school trip to change up the sports classes!
They also do team sport parties with pizza and ice cream! .
Any Top Tips?
Military discounts get $1 off the regular price for certain sessions!.
If the centre is open 10am - 10pm for public sessions, this is broken up into blocks of 2 hours. So session 1 is 10am - 12pm, session 2 is 12pm - 2pm etc. .

Great place and lots of fun! The management is awesome!

The Google times when they're open and closed are not accurate, and not true. Don't go by them.
It's also pretty ridiculous they're so frugal and tight-fisted with their charges, fees, and skating times. I myself would rate it about a 3 but there's always a few inaccurate 5's to balance out and take into account.
The Austin Bluffs Skate City is dirty and badly run. The manager has no control over his staff and most of employees couldn't care less (though there are a couple that work hard and are very good with the kids), They do have a CS cop working most sessions, but that is not a guarantee that they will be there. If there is a fight, the staff will not help and there have been injuries, some fairly serious. DO NOT let your children go there alone!

Either I'm out of the touch with the skating rink world or... I've never been at a skating rink that charged for specific times - 2hr periods. Come ON! They even stamp your hand with the time slot. My 1st experience here was for an 8yo B-day party. They scheduled it for Friday evening but failed to mention to my friend that obnoxious nasty middle schoolers usually fill the place. My 13yo daughter had several run-ins with bullying girls (several bigger than her) harassing our birthday girl. One of our party attendee's dad/police man had to address...Read More

This place is expensive to skate and for how cheap they are. Their go to dj, Jason is a douche. He takes his job way to seriously. So if you want to have a good time avoid the sessions that he's at.

A teenage employee advised us to avoid Friday nights. We returned Sunday afternoon for the "military appreciation" time. The times are set and heaven forbid if they let you in 15 minutes early! We waited. They've got a monopoly and they take advantage of it.
