Where are we going today?

Nestled in the heart of the Superstition Mountains lies spectacular Canyon Lake, home of the Dolly Steamboat.

You will marvel as you travel up the historic Apache Trail with its unique rock formations and beautiful scenery. The Tonto National Forest provides the most awe-inspiring and sublimely beautiful panorama nature has ever created. Listen as your captain recounts the legends and lore’s of the mysterious Superstition Mountains and Arizona’s first historic highway, the Apache Trail.

Continuing a tradition of cruising since 1925, the Dolly Steamboat now cruises the secluded inner waterways of spectacular Canyon Lake and is considered one of Arizona’s premier destinations. Every trip brings new revelations of rock formations, geological history and the flora and fauna distinct to the Sonoran Desert.

Explore a favorite destination of President Theodore Roosevelt, who declared “the Apache Trail and surrounding area combines the grandeur of the Alps, the glory of the Rockies, the magnificence of the Grand Canyon and then adds an indefinable something that none of the others have.” So join us on the Dolly Steamboat for an unforgettable 'mini-Arizona vacation' and see for yourself why there's nothing quite like a ride on Arizona's Dolly Steamboat.

I took my mom on the Twilight Dinner cruise for her 74th birthday and I cannot say enough good things about our experience! Jeff (the Captain), John & Heather were wonderful, the catering staff were super friendly, dinner was amazing (Baron of Beef with Chicken Picatta, steamed veggies, salad, the best potatoes ever & to die for dessert) and the scenery was fantastic! One of the best experiences I've had and a wonderful place to take my mom to celebrate her birthday.

If we can, we're going to try and get the entire family together for her 75th...Read More

We did a dinner cruise in the spring with our family. We loved it. We did see some big horn sheep and an eagle. Cruising throught the canyon offers amazing views you cannot experience from the perimeter. Our friends are here from Germany and we are excited to share the experience with them.

We took a 12:00 cruise on the Dolly Steamboat the first week in Oct. The weather & boat conditions were wonderful. Canyon Lake is a beautiful lake to tour. The Captain's announcements were informative. They also have a pre-recorded tour guiding system. There were about 50 people on the boat, and this seemed perfect. I would not have wanted it any more crowded. The bathroom on the boat was very clean with easy access. We were able to choose from indoor or outdoor seating with protective covering or no covering. It was relaxing, peaceful,...Read More

Scenic. Peaceful. Underrated. Took my mom and two small children. Forecasted Thunderstorms but it turned out to be cool and overcast--cool in August!!! Plenty of room for the little ones to roam (we actually had a nice private outside area in the back of the boat all to ourselves). We saw deer, a bald eagle, and 5 bighorn sheep scaling the rocks. The staff is friendly and the captain/narrator is very entertaining. You are not allowed to bring your own food onboard (you may bring bottled water). This was a bit disappointing as we had hoped...Read More

This was a bit disappointing as we had hoped to have a little picnic for the kids (the boat leaves at 12N--lunch time, so eat early!). They do sell snack food onboard (cash/check only, I think.). Really lovely ride! You'll feel worlds away and close to nature.
