Where are we going today?

The primary attraction of this general area is its remoteness: mountains with tree-covered slopes, fast running rivers and streams, and clear lakes. The land northeast and southeast of Island Pond is especially suited to the angler, the hunter, or the outdoor lover, and is virtually without roads or villages. Logging roads into the deeper reaches of this area are numerous and offer interesting side trips.

Clean, well maintained campground with a friendly, helpful staff. Nice walking trails around Spectacle Pond, canoe and kayak rentals on-site, plenty of space between campsites (several waterfront with it's own tiny beach), small, but clean, sandy beach for swimming (larger day-use beach on Island Pond nearby), Loons and Kingfishers, beautiful scenery- an excellent experience overall. We went in early September and found it peaceful and intimate. Can't wait to go back!

My son and I stayed two nights Friday and Saturday nights (July 11-13th) 2014. Excellent staff who are very friendly and accommodating. The park is very well maintained and CLEAN!!!! Again representative of the great staff. The amenities and facilities are awesome. There is a campers beach on Spectacle Pond and they also maintain the beach on Island Pond down the road. If you are looking to get away from it all and truly enjoy nature and the wild and explore this is a great place to do it. Moose, deer, bear the sound of loons at night. We...Read More
