Where are we going today?

Families - are you ready to head to your battle stations!? History is waiting for you at the Battleship USS North Carolina!

Take the whole family to climb about this very authentically restored battleship. Just imagine yourself on those battle stations searching the sky for those enemy aircraft.

The 2 hour self-guided yours will allow you to step back as you walk across the decks. You can learn all about the fierce combat that the crew faced during their days in the Pacific during WWII.

What's great about the Battleship USS North Carolina, is you get to hear the personal stories of the actual men who were determined to grow up, and serve their country. It's more than just facts of the war. Kids will have an eye opening experience as they put faces and names to those men, through photographs, oral histories, and mementoes.

Kids will love the interactive fun on the USS North Carolina, as they can try and steer the ship, even start the engines AND...are you ready for this? Fire the guns! It's YOUR experience!

There is so much to participate in, within the battleship. You can participate in the in-depth programs to learn all about how she worked. You can experience reenactments which will make you feel closer to history, and you can even check out some behind the scenes tours.

You can start your day with the introductory movie in the auditorium, then head through the fascinating exhibit before making your way up the gangway. There are climbing ladders (which are pretty fun!) to take you through 9 levels. Don't forget your camera!

Only had a little time but still wanted to get on board and did. They let you explore a lot of places and if you have not been here before it is truly very impressive and worth seeing. You don't get the full perspective until you walk the deck. Quite a piece of history. I was amazed how steep the steps and would not recommend doing down into the engine room if you have a challenge getting around. I added some more pictures from below deck that I took and next time want to have more time and see the upper deck area. I felt proud for all those that...Read More

Wonderful and unique exhibit. Must see if you are visiting NC, esp if you are going down to the beaches (as it is on the way).

Most decorated battleship in WWII. If you are near Myrtle Beach take a drive up to Wilmington NC and see this piece of history first hand.

Had a good time but its hard with young children. The ship is almost exact to the way it was 70 years ago so lots of steep ladders and places for kids to fall into. If they don't mind you holding their hand.
