The Ty Cobb Museum showcases the life and achievements of one of the greatest baseball players ever to grace the diamond. Ty Cobb of course!
Through a series of exhibits, kids can learn and be inspired by one man's amazing achievements. You never know, it might inspire them to set their sights on the world too!
Each of the exhibits are filled with artifacts that have been collected, and preserved, from video and books, to memorabilia and even film. These historical collections let that legend of this "Georgia Peach" to live on!
It is the mission of the Ty Cobb Museum to "set the record straight" and make people aware of Ty Cobb's benevolent nature and all he's done for his hometown of Royston and the state of Georgia.
Did you know that Ty Cobb was the first pro athlete to appear in a movie back in 1917? Did you know that he used the most expensive handmade clubs when he played golf, even though he was only average at the sport? Did you know that his last ball game was in 1961 when he threw out the first pitch for the Los Angeles Angels?
