What is there to do?

Nature really is calling at the Elachee Nature Science Center, where you can hike trails, enjoy animal encounters, and just witness nature's miracles!

There is something for everyone in the family at Elachee Nature Science Center. For those quiet kids, they might just want to find a spot in nature and relax! For those more curious, the interactive exhibits and recreation areas might be just for them!

The exhibit halls are filled with fun hands-on activities for learning all about the natural and cultural history of Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve.

The Live Animal Room features a number of wildlife species from the region, including snakes, turtles, frogs and more (and if you want to help support them, you can adopt an animal friend too)

Those keen eyed children can observe a red tailed hawk in the outdoor aviary, or find out all about bees and their purposes in the bee hive!

Don't forget to grab those hiking boots and head out onto the 12 miles of trails throughout the Nature Preserve, with the trail heads accessible from both the Visitor Center and Chicopee Lake.

Keep an eye on the fun events they host throughout the year too, from the Great Backyard Bird Count, or a Raptor Fest and even Snake Day, there are plenty of things to do with the kids.

Elachee Nature Science Center is a hidden gem that has grown over 4 decades, becoming a favorite of North Georgia!
