Played the Quarry today for a second time. Having remembered how beautiful it was on our previous outing we were all excited to get back and play again! Upon arriving at the course, there was nobody at the bag drop, so we unloaded our bags and loaded our carts ourselves. After which we paid for our round then headed to the range. Once reaching the check-in we were instructed to play ahead of the prior tee time as they were a foursome and we were a threesome. We therefore had no time to warmup. Also peculiar was that they sent us off the back nine. Still at this point, no big deal. It started raining though and when asked for a towel, to wipe off our windshield, the official had none. After teeing off of 10 to start our round, we realized they had just fertilized the course leaving, if you’ve never experienced, thousands of foamy balls the entire length of every hole. Foamy balls that looked exactly like golf balls. Frustrating. One of the gentlemen we were with also had a calf injury that was exacerbated by the lack of stair cases anywhere on the course. Beautiful, but just a little lacking today. The cart girl also had no cream for the coffee.

Both of the courses at Giants Ridge are great. I have played both of them many times in the last three years and they are both very challenging. If you are looking for a pristine course to play at a very affordable cost, then i recommend either of the courses. The scenery of both courses are outstanding. I have played Hazletine National and I must say Giants Ridge is just as nice. Great course and it is my favorite course to play each and every year and it has a great staff and great practice facilities.
