If you want a beautiful and relaxing day out in Pasadena, then head on over to Descanso Gardens - the incredible gardens with a host of different plants and flowers for you to enjoy all year round.

Kids will love walking around the different varities of gardens, each of which has it's own personality. Each season will also bring something new, so you can go back more than once!

You can explore the Ancient Forest with a number of plants that are virtually unchanged since the days of the dinosaurs. A fascinating look into what life would have been like in the Jurassic age. Kids, can you just imagine those huge creatures roaming around these ferns and redwoods?

The Center Circle is great for educating kids on how beautiful a garden can be that is conscious of hose it uses it's water, and the popular Rose Garden is 5 acres of 3,000 beautiful roses!

At Descanso Gardens, you can explore the woodlands plants, or you can transport yourself into Asia with the Japanese-style garden that blends tea, zen and nature! A fun place to take the kids too is Nature's Table, where the edible garden is filled with fruit trees and vegetables, as well as herbs. It's a fun way to show kids where food comes from!

If the gardens weren't enough at Descanso Gardens, you can take a ride on the Enchanted Railroad! A light-hearted look at the gardens is enjoyed on an 1/8th scale replica of a real diesel train, and is great for all ages!

The railroad has an additional charge of $3, and different opening times. They run 10am - Noon Tues & Fri, and 10am - 4pm weekends.
