About Buena Vista Museum of Natural History and Science

Science CAN be fun, and the Buena Vista Museum of Natural History and Science can prove it!

The museum's aim is to promote the scientific and educational aspects of our wonderful planet, with a focus on palaeontology, geology, archaeology, biology and geology.

They have carefully documented the area and put together a great collection of fossils and other natural history items so kids can enjoy them!

They have exhibits where kids can really get up close and learn about the world, and what makes it what it is today, and the staff are always on hand to answer any questions they may have (and we hope they have a lot!)

Really love the elements of the museum and want to learn more?  Then ask about their super fun science camps, or perhaps you want to join one of the science enrichment sessions?  They also hold tours and workshops for students where you can come and enjoy their really cool specimens on display, including life sized dinosaur casts and a life sized Native American interpretive family dwelling!

Do you have any idea how they might have lived?

If you want to really get your hands dirty, you can join them on a real dig on Sharktooth Hill! You can get out and play in the dirt, as you slowly search for relics hidden in the ground.  You will be allowed to keep any teeth you find (really old maybe even dinosaur teeth!) and fossils you find.

Get stuck into nature - literally!
