About Raby Castle

Raby Castle is without a doubt one of the most impressive intact castles in the North of England. Built in the 14th century by the powerful Neville family, it has a long history. Home to Cecily Neville, mother of two kings of England, it was also the scene of the plotting of the Rising of the North and a Parliamentary stronghold during the Civil War. Explore the different rooms with the complimentary children's trail sheet, Raby Castle Quest and find out interesting facts about the Castle.

Discover the picturesque parkland home to the herds of red and fallow deer, be sure to pick up your complimentary seasonal trail sheet. With over 200 acres to explore there are plenty of walks to discover.

Play in the outdoor adventure playground at The Plotters' Forest, built within a Christmas tree plantation, where 'close to nature' takes on a whole new meaning. Join us for a delicious lunch at the Yurt Cafe and complete your day by heading over to the Hunters Yard to browse the beautiful Stables Shop.
