Muckross House Gardens and Farms offers a rich landscape interior and exterior to explore with the whole family, with history around every corner.
The Muckross House is a nineteenth century Victorian mansion set against the stunning Kilarney National Park. The house is close to the shores of the lake and is the ideal base to start your exploration.
The rooms are furnished in period style and portray what life was like, you can even head down to the basemen and imagine how the servants went about their daily chores.
The traditional farms are a must visit as you step back in time to the 1930s and 1940s! All activities were carried out using horsepower and traditional machinery. There are three working farms, each have animals and machinery to discover.
The dwellings are furnished in traditional style and have dressers, beds and more. There's also a Labourers Cottage, Carpenter's Workshop and a Blacksmith Forge. There's also a primary school too that you can look round!
There's a small farm animal petting area too with a bounce castle and woodland play area for the younger ones to run about and enjoy!
The gardens, house and farm are a reat place to visit as you explore all about traditional farming history, whilst taking in the beautiful natural landscape of the area.

The Garden Restaurant at Muckross is an ideal venue for those who wish to enjoy a relaxing meal in the scenic surroundings of Killarney National Park.
Mucros Craft Shop is located within the Walled Garden Centre, which lies adjacent to Muckross House.
For the most part Muckross House and Muckross Traditional Farms have universal access, however in some instances access may be limited due to the limitations of historic buildings. To assist people with reduced mobility a courtesy/transit wheelchair is available for use within the interior environs of Muckross House only.
