About this activity

Dunster Museum and Doll Collection has been recently refurbished and you'll discover the amazing story of Exmoor village and explore the 10,000 year history. There's also a huge doll collections, with thousands of dolls spanning different times, cultures and manufacturers.

During the school holidays, there is an activity area where you can have a go at some crafts like stamping your own tile patterns and creating your own coat of arms. There are also two exhibitions panels on the location of Dunster Port and on the Victorian tiled flooring in St George's Church.

There's a range of temporary and permanent displays throughout the year too. Make sure to check the website before you visit so you know what's on!

The Dolls Collection opened in 1971, and the collection has grew over the years. The dollars are all from different periods and in their original clothes. See how they've changed over the years! The dolls represents the different cultures and reminds visitors of childhood and even nursery rhyme characters.

The museum is free to enter and there's a gift shop selling a variety of dolls and ornaments too.
