Pymatuning is a very naturally beautiful state park, plenty of wildlife, the famous spillway with the carp and seagulls and ducks. The many fishers and families also make the park seem alive and very active. However many of the facilities are terrible. Outside of the main spillway area several beaches are closed or not maintained and the park as a whole is just dirty, litter and poor maintenance of park roads and areas. An example of this can be found around the tuttle Beach area. The park overall is an ok experience.

We camp at the Jamestown Campground every year, and every year, it’s the same; clean, quiet and pleasant. Great fishing, and tons of things to do as well. The worst part of the whole experience is going home, knowing we’re a year away from doing it again. If you’re looking for inexpensive quality family time, do not overlook this gem. Every year has been an experience, an adventure, and a soul recharge. Quit reading this already and go there!

Really nice park, very laid back staff, great cabins, very clean quiet lake and well-maintained park. You have to see the spill area with the begging fish. Also, the surrounding area is quite nice, and has a number of trails and parks.
