What is there to do?

One of Cleveland’s most popular attractions is Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, and it can be the destination for your next Ohio family day out!

The zoo is also one of the city's foremost conservation organizations, and is home to 3,000 animals representing 600 species, and you can have a front row seat to this incredible educational and animal-filled experience.

You can just take your time and enjoy each area of the Zoo at your own pace. The Wilderness Trek is where kids can come face to face with wolves, bear, and the Asian Highlands exhibit. Imagine yourselves in the African Savanna, surrounded by giraffe, ostrich and rhino.

The Circle of Wildlife features the Waterfowl Lake with some stunning birds, as well as the Nature Discovery Ridge Play Area with more educational opportunities for the little ones, with a carousel nearby too for some extra fun!

Don't miss seeing the African Elephant Crossing too, before heading Down Under and seeing some pretty unique creatures from Australia, including the kangaroos and dingo! Did we mention there was a camel ride experience too?

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is a family-friendly, kid-friendly venue with outdoor and indoor facilities, educational and conservation programming and a great place for families to have adventures and make memories. They also have live animal programs too!

The Zoo’s Education department has programming all year round for kids and families: preschool safaris, family discoveries, teen programs, summer day camps, overnight programs, homeschool programs and many, many more!

Any top tips?

Tip for parents with young children: concession areas do not provide straws or lids for animal safety so you might want to bring "sippy cups" or other non-spillable containers from home.

I’m Hungry!

There are SO many places to fill those rumbling tummies! There are plenty of snack shacks with dippin dots, pretzels and candy. There are subs and pizza in the food court, and hot dogs in the Carousel Cafe. Check out the speciality hot dogs in Matilda's Grill, and a whole host of burgers, chicken fingers, fries and more in the Wilderness Grill! Some of the food outlets are cash only, so be prepared
