About this activity

With roots that date back as far as the Great Depression, Paris Mountain State Park certainly has a lot of offer families! Not only is there history, but there is nature, adventure, and lots of outdoor fun to be had!

The Park Center is a great place to start your nature adventure. Check out the preserved stone and timber on the outside where you can still see the heritage. The Park Center used to be the old bathhouse, so history starts before you even walk in!

Then, once inside you can explore the historical exhibits as well as exhibitions on the park's ecology.

Are you excited to hear all about the things you can do during your time at Paris Mountain State Park? Let's go!

How about those water lovers? You can enjoy fishing in the 8 acre Lake Placid and try and catch yourself some bream, catfish and bass.

If you fancy a two mile hike, you can get to Reservoir #3 which is 15 acres of even more fishing!

If you would rather get out onto the water itself, there are canoe and kayaks ready for rental, as well as pedal boats. You can't use your own boats on the lake, but there are plenty of options during spring and summer!

For those hikers in the family, get those walking shoes on because there are 15 miles of hiking and biking trails, as well as interpretive trails which takes you on a 1.2 mile loop.

From swimming, to bird watching, geocaching and playground equipment, there will be something that every family member will love!
