Where are we going today?
Since 1938, families from Mississippi have been enjoying Clarkco State Park - and when you visit you'll be bale to see why! These 815 acres which stretch out across beautiful rolling woodlands gives families water sports, nature, wildlife, and camping - perfect for that afternoon or even weekend away if you want to enjoy each others company for a bit longer!
There is so much to do! Hot summers day? Then head to Clarkco lake where there is a boat launch so you can take your boat out for the day of an afternoon of relaxation, or sit along the banks enjoy some fishing. You might even want to try a spot of water skiing! Got little kids? Good thing that Clarkco State Park also has a zero depth Splash Pad for them to play about in and cool off - just like the big kids would be doing!
There are playgrounds for those active kids to run around and climb on - if the 815 acres isn't enough to tire them out! Playing fields are great if you want to bring some balls and bats down and have a few hits and catches, and tennis courts are available for a few games!
You're in a beautiful state park, so you should explore the area! There are nature trails for you to take to, so you can really try and spot all the local wildlife - don't forget your camera! With picnic pavilions for those relaxing family lunches, and disc golf which is a fun and unique way to have a round of golf, you probably will be considering extending your family day out to a weekend!
If that's the case - Clarkco State Park has you covered! With 42 camping sites, and 15 tent sites, and even 20 cabins to choose from (and a vacation cottage!) you can stay as little or as long as you like!
A great Mississippi nature filled family day out in that charming southern state - that's what we like to hear!

When can we go?
Open all year.
There are picnic sites and pavilions to enjoy lunch on, so pack a tasty lunch and enjoy a lunch out in nature!.
Especially with activities and summer, pack plenty of water and healthy snacks. .
Any Top Tips?
There are laundry facilities in the camping sites, so if you decide to stay last minute you'll still be okay! .
Doing our bit
The park make sure that they look after everything that calls it home, so help look after it and don't scare the wildlife and pick up any trash! .
Need a little extra help?
Give them a call to check the accessibility of the trails before you go if you want to double check. .
There are fun events across the year, like the Mississippi Junior Miss Program and the Jimmie Rogers Memorial Festival.

Really enjoyed ourselves!!! Me, my husband, our son, my mom, sister, and grandmother all went the 2nd week in October. We stayed in Cabin 1 and LOVED it!!! Woods all around, just steps away from the lake. Beautiful scenery, and really loved having our own private pier. We even had a few cute little visitors at night while grilling-- raccoons! They were friendly and would sit and wait for you to throw food to them. The cabin was very clean, and had everything we needed. However, if you are a bigger person (300lbs+) you will probably have to ask for a handicap-accessible cabin, because the toilet was snug in between the shower and the wall. The shower was very accommodating though. The beds were comfy, couch and chairs were comfortable, but you can't come expecting a 5-star hotel complete with memory-foam mattresses and luxury furniture-- this is a state park, hello! Couldn't have had a better time playing with my son on the 4 different playgrounds and riding our bikes. It was even warm enough for them to walk out into the swim area and wade around. I give this park a 2-thumbs-up and will DEFINITELY be back for years to come!!!
