Where are we going today?

Get ready to life your spirits!  This very awesome attraction brings excitement and adventure to science and aviation!

It's a zoo...but not with animals...with very cool aeronautical gizmos and gadets that take to the skies!

Spend your day on the amusement park-style rides, and journey off the ground in the full-motion flight simulators where you can get behind the controls....you can even take on real 4D missions!

Get up up and away in the classic bi-planes, or step back in time on the 26 foot indoor Ferris wheel all the while learning about the history of flight across the years!

Want to be dropped from two stories?  Not literally of course!  But you can experience the sensation of weightlessness on the paratrooper jump, so it will be just like you are jumping out of a plane yourself! Feel the rush in your stomach as you are floating through the air!

You can even lift off the ground in your Montgolfier balloon ride!

When you need a break from all the rides you can wander around and take in all the historic aircraft that they have on display, or get hands-on with all the exciting science experiments!

If you want something REALLY different - you can stay overnight!  They have overnight camps where you can have a snooze under an SR-71 Blackbird!  You can even hold your birthday here, or take part in one of the exciting summer camp experiences!

This place is actually pretty cool. I brought my 8 year old niece here and we had a blast. She lost her bag and the attendants were all really nice and helped us find it. Thanks Air Zoo!

Our family really enjoyed this place. If you like aviation and space travel this is the place for you. Good for adults and children. My nine year old really liked the flight simulators. Rides for small and older children. An adult could spend hours reading and viewing all the historical and educational stuff. It has a covered picnic area which we discovered by accident. It would be better if they mentioned that on their website. We brought lunch and it was a good place to eat. Buy the all ride wristband so you can just do everything. Typical...Read More

One of the Best Attractions for Families in West Michigan without a doubt!

For an aviation buff, this museum features lots of RARE & HISTORIC Aircraft and you can even see the aircraft that are in restoration over at the restoration center.

This Museum goes above and beyond any normal air museum. Sure there are aircraft to see (and as I stated, many rare, including the ONLY SR-71B Blackbird still in existence). At the AIR ZOO, you don't just see history, but you get to experience it. The Missions Theater features a daring World War II Bombing...Read More

Actually spent the night here as part of the program they offered (perhaps still do) to Cub Scout Packs. Found the exhibits well-presented, the staff knowledgable, good as hosts / instructors, and nicely organized.

What a cool place to visit for all ages! It is gorgeous to look at and it is like going back in time! The volunteers could not be any friendlier and it is so obvious they love to be there! My last visit was with my Dad who was in a wheelchair and they are very handicap accessible. I love this place !!!

Cafe upstairs but we did not use it. Definitely a winner in our opinion.

The Missions Theater features a daring World War II Bombing Raid that is a very touching tribute. The theater also shows "Fly Me to the Moon" which is great for children. Then there are numerous rides and immersive exhibits including "Space. Dare to Dream", the Full-Motion MaxFlight Simulators, Montgolfier Balloon Race, Flying Circus Biplane Ride, Paratrooper Jump, Century of Flight Ferris Wheel, Kids Area, Corsair Challenge/Mars Simulator and a 3D Space Shuttle Ride which features a Space Shuttle Flight and International Space Station Tour.

The museum is also home to the National Guadalcanal Memorial Museum. The museum is a Smithsonian Institution Affiliate and has access to thousands of rare artifacts and amazing traveling exhibits. The AIR ZOO has restored some precious artifacts from the Smithsonian that are presently on display that includes the El Kabong I test capsule and the ONLY surviving XP-55 Ascender.

During the summer, visiting warbirds usually come to the museum. This summer will feature the B-25 & B-17 from the Yankee Air Museum numerous times throughout the summer into September. Flights may be purchased on these birds.

The AIR ZOO only has one flyable aircraft now, a 1929 Ford Tri-Motor, the first mass produced airliner. However, with sponsorship from the EAA, this Tri-Motor (along with EAA's Tri-Motor) tours the country during the summer months to give rides. It usually gives rides two to three weekends out of the summer at the AIR ZOO however. Back in the day, a good portion of the collection used to fly, including a rare Grumman F7F Tigercat. However, the collection doesn't fly anymore and that is one thing I personally miss (and the Tigercat has since been sold anyway).

All in all, this place is a MUST for anyone living in the area, even if you aren't an avid aviation fan, you will definitely like this place. Pretty cheap overall too and you can purchase an individual membership for $29 which is good for the ENTIRE year and includes unlimited admissions etc...very affordable. You may leave loving aviation.

I help organize and do the Facebook page for the Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show & Balloon Festival and I ALWAYS recommend out of town patrons visit the AIR ZOO if they have the time because it is just one of those attractions you HAVE to do.
