For over 100 years, Woodland Park Zoo has been giving families those incredible animals experiences, and creating unforgettable memories.
Founded in 1899, there is over 90 acres to spend your family day out in, where kids can come face to face with their favorite animals, and learn all about conservation too!
With over 1,000 animals in the zoo, there is a lot to learn, and nearly 300 different species are represented. Did you think there were even that many species - looks like it's going to be a full day in Seattle!
Woodland Park Zoo have it all - mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles - they have those popular species, and even some you might not have heard of! Kids can see those cheeky red pandas play, or watch those tall giraffes reach the leaves. There are playful primates, and sleepy hippos, there are HUGE animals like the grand lion, to the teeny ocelot.
For those kids who LOVE those creepy crawlies, they won't be disappointed, and there are some pretty incredible birds to spot. Try and spot those cute barn owls, or those iconic vultures. There are even some very cool birds with some very iconic sounds, such as the Kookaburra!
The zoo also has a beautiful butterfly garden with nearly 500 free flying butterflies, and great exhibits that can teach kids about conservation too, such as the Banyan Wilds, where the forests of Asia come to life with tigers and sloth bears.
