About The Children's Museum

The Children’s Museum is just that - a museum JUST for children, and offers rich learning experiences across science and nature for all ages.  Exploration of their multi-level museum captures imaginations and develops a sense of curiosity about the natural world, and offers learning and discovery as well as plenty of fun through the various exhibits.

Kids can explore the outdoors - indoors - in the Elementree Forest, where kids can experience a range of activities and environments, from a rural campground to a suburban backyard, with the exhibit changing seasons as the real outdoors does!

Imagination Playground is where those imaginations can just run wild, with fun, light-weight blocks that can be connected in all sorts of styles, giving kids the freedom to express themselves through play.

Not only can kids enjoy the exhibits, The Children's Museum host live animal demonstrations by their talented Wildlife Sanctuary staff, AND daily shows within their digital planetarium. Sounds pretty fun to us!

In fact, there are a number of animal exhibits they can check out, including turtles, terrapins & tortoises with real reptiles in the aquariums, and they can learn all about lizards in Lizard Lair, including their relationship with those prehistoric ancestors that we know and love.

Speaking of, Dinosaurs in your Backyard gives kids a chance to explore the dinosaurs that lived in Connecticut during the Jurassic Period, through fossils, bones, footprints and more.

Do kids, are you ready to have a day of play and learning at The Children's Museum, where the natural world comes to life indoors?

Let's go play then!
