Where are we going?

Newington Childrens Theatre Company

What is there to do?

Theater is such a great experience for kids - they get to revel in the magic of the atmosphere, the lights dimming and the curtain rising, and the applause as the production comes to a close.

They get to become lost in a world of live storytelling, where the characters are right there in front of them - playing out scenes before their very eyes.  A living movie!

What's extra special about the Children's Theater Company in Newington, is that the performances are for the children, by the children.  Kids get to watch kids their own age perform, and shine on stage.  They can relate - and even become inspired.

The theater is always putting on performances of favorite stories that change across the year so there is always something to go back to.

Then, if the kids are inspired and develop the acting bug, the they can attend one of the fun summer theater arts programs - and no experience necessary!

They don't need to enrol, and at the end of the program every student will be cast in the production!  They have a safe, collaborative, creative and fun environment to learn how to develop their self esteem, work together to reach that common goal, and develop their self confidence.

The company want to give families in Connecticut opportunities to experience quality live theater - something often people envision having to make trips to Broadway.  But they don't - theater is magical wherever it is experienced, and kids will experience the magic of the performing world right on their door step.
