Some impressive, enormous American landscapes, some lesser known impressionist paintings, a couple of pretty stained glass windows, and some Edward Hoppers. Not on the mall with the other museums but worth a visit and still in very central DC and easy to get to. Because of its proximity to Chinatown this would be a good stop close to lunch or dinner time as there are a lot of eating options nearby. FYI it doesn’t open until 11.30 am which is unusually late and the first time I went I didn’t know this so I was early and had to wait to get in! Connects to the National Portrait Gallery (in the same building).
