Though there are hands on features sometimes it's not in any to be mistaken for a children's museum or similar, this is a serious education stop.
It is three blocks from the National Mall, one block from the Verizon Center, and one block from the National Building Museum. Parking is really limited but good local public transport links.
Facilitated and self guided tour options available.
The museum is wheelchair accessible throughout its lobby and exhibit spaces, includes a unisex companion care restroom, and has accessible fire exit ramps. Service animals and powered wheelchairs are allowed in the museum. In addition, the museum has a wheelchair available upon request and free of charge.
