Great! For a quick hike locally it is a beautiful hike. I am sure that my next comment will draw the ire of dog owners. I have to say I appreciate the fact that dogs are not allowed. I don’t think that kids and adults for that matter should have to worry if an approaching dog is nice or not. Not to mention the, “Feces Land Mines”, that they can leave on the trails.

I’m giving two stars solely for the fact that dogs are not allowed. The stars are because it’s beautiful, but I can’t take my bet friend :(Oh and the hours are a bit of a joke..

Have never been able to go because I have dogs and they are not allowed. It is rediculous that the closest place to take your dogs for a hike is an hour and a half from Lexington.

Everything about the Sanctuary is wonderful – except its operating hours. Lexington should seriously consider opening up the park later into the evening. A 5:00 pm close time makes it very difficult for people to get out to the trails on week nights and turns this into a weekend spot.

Great place to see deer, take a slow walk or jog the various trails. Nice overlook of Kentucky River and a Grist Mill. My favorite place to “get away”.
