About this activity

Visiting Windsor Castle in Berkshire is a wonderful experience for the whole family. Located in the district of Windsor and Maidenhead, the castle has stood for over 1000 years and is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. Home to the Royal Family for much of that time, Windsor Castle is a popular tourist attraction, a venue for hosting state visits and a national treasure.

Windsor Castle is full of wonderful things to see and do. Visitors can explore the State Apartments, the Chapel of St. George, the Queen Mary's Dolls' House, and the Royal Collection of art. The castle also features several gardens, including the famous Long Walk. Tourists can also watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony at 11 am, which is very popular.

For families visiting with young children, there are plenty of activities to keep them entertained. The castle offers a range of family-friendly activities, including a children's quiz, a tour of the castle's dungeons, and a fun trail around the grounds.  There are also plenty of playgrounds and picnic areas nearby for little ones to enjoy.
