I have been a member of the Boca Raton Museum of Art for two years and have enjoyed my membership tremendously. However, today there were two incidents that have made me never want to set foot in there again. First, I asked my neighbors, a lovely couple whom I am very close with, to join me today but as we arrived at the museum, I was told by Sharon that only one of them could enter because I didn't have a family membership. I had previously brought my niece and aunt with no problem whatsoever, but today, I was firmly and rudely told, "no."...Read More

Wonderful! The staff is great and I love the lighting and the two floor layout of the museum. I have seen several exhibits there. There is a student night every month and other nights where they have free admissions.

I had previously brought my niece and aunt with no problem whatsoever, but today, I was firmly and rudely told, "no." Therefore, I first went in with one of them and then her husband had to go in with her after we were finished while I waited in the gift shop - what horrible and uncaring customer relations for a museum depending on public support and funds - shame on them. Perhaps if they had been a bit flexible and somewhat human, my neighbors would have enjoyed themselves and joined the museum. The next incident I need to relate was when I was in the museum with my neighbor, I injured my leg on a piece of wood that had been carelessly left sticking out on a bench. Luckily, my leg wasn't bleeding but I was in pain - here again, the museum staff was exceptionally rude, They did not as much as offer me an ice pack and one extremely rude staff person asked sarcastically, "should I call for an ambulance?" It was the negligence of the museum staff that caused my injury and their behavior was dispicable. I am a huge supporter of the arts but the rudeness and sarcasm I received today was uncalled for a left a bitter taste. The arts are in trouble all over this country and the behavior of the Boca Raton Museum of Art staff people today certainly does not help the situation.
