I went to The Rink this past weekend and woah… Woah, is all that I really have to say about this place. The outside seems ran down, and it’s not exactly in the best area. I decided to go to The Rink because my friends were interested in trying out a skating rink in the area. I guess a plus, would be that it’s not the hardest place to find. Parking in the parking lot is okay. The parking lot when I arrived was full of around 30-40 cars, but seemed dirty. There was cups all over the parking lot, and trash scattered. I didn’t let a dirty parking lot ruin the night of fun that was about to happen. We went inside the lobby area, and I have no complaints. Was easy and pretty quick to get inside seeing as there was a line of around 15 people, they did actually get us in pretty quick. Once inside I went to their skate rack to find a pair of skates. Woah, that’s the next ting! The person working at their skate counter was absolutely rude, I asked for a size 8, and it was too small. I went up to the counter to exchange the pair of skates for a size nine and they called me and idiot! Are you serious? I got the wrong size skate so I’m an idiot.. Isn’t that just what I wanted to hear today.. He said it to a buddy quietly as he was turning around, but I was able to hear. Throughout the night all I really did was skate with my friends. As much skating as we could do with all of the punk kids skating way too fast, and way too close to us. They were extremely rude and didn’t care about anyone in their way. There was absolutely no enforcement of any type of safety rules, and the music they were playing was absolutely horrible for a public place. I will never be back.

Overcrowded, dirty carpeted walls, obnoxious kids, inappropriate music (of course the kids like to go to The Rink for that reason), very little enforcement of rules. You have kids skating at 45mph on inline skates right past your 10 year old. The “owner” is also very annoying and repeatedly announces that he is “the owner” every single time we go there. The last time I went, I overheard “the owner” yelling at a kid for having a whistle. Enforce the rules, but don’t act like a jackass and puff up to a 13 year old kid. Then comes the annoying “because I’m the owner and I know the rules.” I refuse to go here again. Go to the roller rink in Roseville (Riverside Ave) – it’s WAY nicer and they don’t nickel and dime you. Besides, you’ll be in the company of well behaved people with class.

Had a really awesome time at Adult Skate Night (Sunday’s 7:30pm to 10pm). Friendly staff and good service. The rink surface could do with being replaced rather than just patched as it’s a little on the lumpy side. Music was fine, but perhaps a few too many slow songs.
