Rock climbing is a great sport for kids to play. It keeps them active, keeps them healthy, and really challenges them to improve self-confidence, and conquer those fears! At the YMCA Climbing Gym, the lovely staff are ready to help kids start their climbing journey, or help those already budding climbers improve!
The great things about rock climbing, is that every kid can work at their own pace. The bouldering walls are great for those little tots who aren’t ready to use the ropes, where they can get used to the feel of the holds, and learn where to place their feet and hands. It’s also great for kids to really begin working on their balance, core strength, and coordination.
The YMCA Climbing Gym has amazing 40′ walls, which have a number of routes – each color coded in difficulties. Beginners can start out on the easier courses, and as they progress, move up to the harder colors. It’s a great way for them to keep getting better each time, and monitor their personal best!
There are 14 top roped walls which kids can work together to belay and climb (great for teamwork!), and the YMCA Climbing Gym is also a great place to really improve skills with their climbing clinics.
Celebrating a big day? Then why not have it at the climbing gym! There’s a party room and party packages which are fun options to celebrate those big days.
The climbing gym also have fun themed nights, which are always great for the whole family to get really stuck into and have a great time!
