The U.S National Whitewater Center is an incredible place! It's completely dedicated to giving families just like yours a great time on their 700 acres, with a range of amazing activities!
The activities are perfect for all levels, and they day day pass programs as well as festivals, races and other fun outdoor events.
They want you to play...and play you will! There are SO many activities for you to enjoy! You're right on the Catawba River, so it would be a shame not to make use of that! Have you ever tried whitewater rafting, where you can try and take on those rapids? It's very exhilarating!
If you love the water but want something a bit softer, then try out the kayaking, in particular the flatwater kayaking which is great for those younger ones.
Stand-up paddleboarding is great to stay healthy! It really works all of your muscles, and is great for a challenge if you want to learn something new!
It's not just water activities at the U.S National Whitewater Center (don't let the name fool you!) There are plenty of things to do on dry land. Rock climbing is a popular sport, or you can take to the mountain bikes and enjoy the 25 mile trail system!
If you want to feel more like a bird, then get up into the trees with the ropes courses, the zip lines, and even a canopy tour where you really will be spending your day at the top of the trees overlooking the rest of the wilderness.
Phew! After all that it sounds like we should be relaxing a little! That's just as well, because the U.S National Whitewater Center has fun outdoor festivals, as well as live music and other fun events across summer.
