Here, you can explore the wonders and technological feats of aviation and space flight history, as well as by inspired by those who made it all come to life!
Your journey through the history books begins as you stand beneath a model of the Montgolfier brothers' hot air balloon. Can you guess when it was built? (If you guessed 1783, you'd be right!)
From here, you can marvel real aircraft that have shaped aviation and space history, including some rare WWI aircraft, as well as some pretty special mint condition aircraft, including a Spitfire Mk XVI, and an A-4 Skyhawk jet, all beautifully restored!
Kids can see how technology changed throughout WWII, and the conflicts in Korea and Vietnam, and of course space age technology. You can see see a REAL Apollo 9 Command Module!
Can you imagine what it must be like to go up into space and see the Earth from above? Pretty incredible!
Within the Modern Jet & Space Age gallery kids can even see up close spacesuits that were actually used in space, as well as the continuing story of space exploration!
