What is there to do?

Explore the magic of the underwater world at Ripleys Aquarium of the Smokies!

This popular Tennessee attraction is literally teaming with life. In fact, they are home to over 10,000 exotic sea creatures which represent more than 350 individual species. That's a LOT of sea life all in the one spot!

There are more fish in this aquarium than there are people living in the entire town of Gatlinburg. Fun fact!

Although Ripleys Aquarium of the Smokies is hundreds of miles from the ocean, the scenic beauty and the abundance of water all around make the town of Gatlinburg a “natural” location for a world-class aquarium, America’s most fun aquarium.

And now it's YOUR turn to visit!

Kids can come face to face with those beautiful and often misunderstood sharks in the Shark Realm, or they can really embrace why corals are so important to the ecosystem in the Coral Reef exhibit.

Want some hands-on fun? Have you ever wanted to touch a ray? Here kids can reach out and touch rays in a shallow lagoon as they glide by. Feel how smooth their skin is! Don't worry parents, there are educators always on hand to show the children the best place to pat them.

An aquarium wouldn't be an aquarium without some playful penguins either! Kids can crawl through tunnels in the Penguin Playhouse, and see these amazing birds in their huge outdoor and indoor enclosure. It's a front row seat!

The Tropical Rainforest exhibit showcases some pretty amazing species who live in Central and South America, including the extremely poisonous dart frogs. For those weird and wonderful creatures, the Galley of the Seas is your next stop, or you can visit the Discovery Center for some hands-on fun. They even have a new Touch Jellies experience!

With a four storey playground too, it's no wonder the Ripleys Aquarium of the Smokies is a popular place for that ocean-tastic family day out!

Let's make that SPLASH, there's an underwater world to explore!
