There are SO many iconic things to do in the USA, and one of those is taking a trip along the very famous Route 66 (and get those kicks!)
But what about the history of Route 66, and how did it become one of the most famous roads in the nation? Well a visit to the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum can answer those questions and more!
Here, you can embark on a personal journey through the history of the most revered highway in the USA, and encounter the iconic images, ideas and myths of this incredible road.
The exhibits tell all about the dreams and the labor that was actually needed to make that road a reality, and discover the hardships along the way - did you that thousands streamed along the road, taking them away from drought and despair, and towards their "land of promise"?
Be transported back in time as you listen to the sounds of the Big Band ear, when the roaring of the trucks were bringing home soldiers, and the cries of joy as they did so.
Kids always love sitting at the counter or the booths in the 1950s diner, and even feel the open road just as America's families did on vacation - listen out for their chatter as they eat their lunch!
In addition to ALL of the amazing things to see and experience above, the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum also offers changing exhibits that focus on the Route 66 experience, so if you haven't quite managed to drive the whole journey, this museum is the next best thing!
So you know what we're going to say next, don't you? Yep - it's time to get those kicks on Route 66!
