About Minnesota Zoo

There are zoos, and then there are ZOOs - and Minnesota Zoo is a ZOO!

Why? Well, how about we start with the fact that the amazing exhibits are spread across 485 acres of outdoor trails to explore, and the LARGEST indoor interconnected series of zoo exhibits in the entire USA!

Now THAT is impressive!

Not only that, kids and families and have incredible animal encounters as they explore and meet all of the 5,300 animals that live there! Phew - that's going to be a WILD day out!

Minnesota Zoo is a great place for kids to really learn and understand the animals - why they are important, how they live, and the wonders of nature. Give that many of the animals within the zoo are endangered, it also gives them a chance to understand conservation, and why it's so important to look after the beautiful creatures on our planet!

Kids can meet their favourites, from the stunning Amur Tiger, to the grand bald eagle. They can watch those iconic American Bison roam, or spot the snowy owls as they sleep.

The learning never stops as they discover creatures they had never heard of before? Have you ever seen a Takin, or met a Hyrax? Do you know what a Skipperling is? Well, we know a great place to find out!

If the animals weren't enough, you can continue the family fun on the Conservation Carousel, or experience a working farm, and learn how food gets to the table! It's also where the hands-on fun begins, with the domestic animals such as goats and pigs waiting to make friends!

Active kids can also enjoy the woodland adventure nature-based play area, as well as the wild woods where kids can discover and play in nature. Climbing is DEFINITELY allowed!

So are you ready to have a WILD day out at Minnesota Zoo? We certainly are, and we can't wait!
