Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden is Rockford's "living museum", filled with rare trees, special gardens, unique features and more. Originally established in the 1920's as a tree nursery, at 155-acres in size and with over 1.5 miles of paved, accessible paths and over 2.5 miles of unpaved trails, Klehm has something for everyone to explore!
Be sure to bring the family to check out the Nancy Olson Children's Garden and it's "Kid's Creek" natural play water feature and splash pad! Other amenities in the Nancy Olson Children's Garden include a gazebo and other play features. Other themed gardens appealling to all ages include a Prehistoric Garden, a Pollinator Garden, a Dwarf Conifer Garden and more. Interpretive signage is found throughout the grounds and gardens at key features.
The Visitors Center features restrooms, a gift shop, and a vending machine. Additional restrooms can be found at the Clarcor Pavilion located at the west end of the parking lots.
In 2023, Klehm will be hosting artist David Rogers' Big Bugs: The Pollinators from June 10 to September 10th, This all-ages, larger-than-life outdoor exhibit is included in the cost of daily admission. Learn more at www.klehm.org!
Please stop at our Gatehouse upon entry, where admission is collected. If the Gatehouse is not staffed please proceed to the Visitors Center to pay admission.
