Just settling down for the night and you get out a book to read, only to find your kids are getting a bit bored with it? What they need, is a theater company that puts on fun and exciting plays, based on their favorite stories so they can experience it in a whole new medium!
Even better if those performances sometimes involved the kids in the audience - maybe even get them up on stage! Pretty fun!
The InterActive Theater Company perfect for families and kids from 5 - 13, where innovative scripts and fun improvisational style performances captivate and engage their little faces throughout the performance. They sometimes even pull kids from the audience up on stage! How does that sound!? Are you ready to be a little performer!
Every year they put on 4 -6 main productions - all original - in addition to arts and education programs all year around. They also cater for schools, but if you can't go to them, they go to you with their touring company!
If you want to celebrate your birthday here, you can enjoy fabulous seats, mix with the actors after the performance and just have a great time!
If you have become inspired and feel you might have the acting, bug, they occasionally hold week long camps where you can immerse yourself in the world of performance, and really develop your skills, self esteem and boost your confidence! They have Winter Break camps, Summer Break camps, and summer camps - all taught by those riveting people you see up on the stage!
Oh yes…the world is but a stage!
InterActive Theater Company is in the Houston Heights on Heights Blvd. and 16th St. in the Main Hall of the historic Heights Church of Christ. If you are coming on the I-10, take the Yale exit and turn north up the tree shaded street where horse drawn trolley cars used to travel past victorian houses. Pretty cool trip!Get directions
They often perform in the community so keep an eye out for them! They once performed in Houston Zoo - pretty fun!
InterActive Theater is available for school field trips and school groups are discounted at $6.00 a student ($5.00 for title-1 schools) and teachers are always free. A popular way to introduce arts and culture into the lessons.
