About this activity

If you love art, then you're in luck because the Baltimore Museum of Art is Maryland's largest art museum featuring more than 85,000 works or art, ranging from ancient mosaics to contemporary art!

Suitable for the older kids, the BMA offers FREE entry to it's numerous galleries, so everyone really can enjoy the wonders of the art world!

As you walk around the collections, you could be passing 19th century sculptures, or modern paintings, or enjoying the largest collection of Henri Matisse in the entire WORLD! Pretty amazing!

Kids can come face to face with art from all over the world, from Africa, to Asia, and Europe, and even Native American.

If you have lots of questions, or just can't wait to soak up the history of art, then why not check out the FREE guided public tours that all start from the East Lobby.  You can learn about the collections and exhibits on one day, then explore one collection in depth with a curator another day!

The Baltimore Museum of Art is also great for families, because throughout the year they host specific events just for YOU! From hands-on workshops, to special gallery tours,  and they also encourage fun ways for kids to enjoy the exhibits, such as describing the art to family members, or imagining what stories the art has behind it!

They are not only going to learn, but they are going to be inspired too!

The exhibits can change across the year too, so with every visit you will be exploring and discovering something new and amazing.

The art world is amazing place, and at the Baltimore Museum of Art, they love extending their passion to children and families who might just be inspired. You never know - one day YOU might have a painting hanging on their wall!
