Note: As of July 2018, Bahia Honda State Park is still recovering from Hurricane Irma, and some amenities are not yet available. Keep checking on any updates as they restore this beautiful island.

This incredible island is home to one of Florida's southernmost state parks, and it's here you can enjoy the beautiful beaches, incredible sunsets and unforgettable snorkelling. Sounds pretty amazing, doesn't it? 

So, what can you expect on a family day out to Bahia Honda State Park? If you love the great outdoors, then you are in luck!

How about a picnic on the beach, or enjoy a swim in the crystal clear waters? Perhaps you want to simply relax and enjoy the balmy sea breezes that are always felt along the shores. It's pretty magical!

For those fishing lovers in the family, anglers can fish from the shore or you can bring a boat and launch at the boat ramp. 

If you would rather get OUT onto the water, there are kayaks and snorkeling gear for rental, as well as boat trips available to the reef for snorkeling excursions. 

Bahia Honda State Park is an excellent place to see wading birds and shorebirds, so keep those keen eyes keen!. 

Make sure you make a stop at the nature center, as that can introduce kids to the island's unique plants and animals.

The concession is operating daily on a limited basis from 10am to 5pm. Here they are offering light snacks, water and soft drinks as well as sandwiches, snacks, ice, t-shirts, souvenirs and limited marine supplies are available from the park concession.

There are some accessible amenities within the park including cabins, campsites, beach access ramps, day use showers, BBQ grills, fishing areas and the picnic pavillion.
